Grundvoraussetzung für die Zulassung zu einem Studium an der Universität Zürich ist eine fristgerechte und vollständige Bewerbung. Diese erfolgt online. Alle Daten, Termine, Fristen, Informationen zum Bewerbungsablauf finden Sie auf den zentralen Studienseiten der UZH.

Studierende mit einem Bachelorabschluss der UZH vollziehen den Stufenanstieg in das Masterstudium via Studiengangswechsel im Zuge der Semestereinschreibung. Siehe dazu auch die Informationen auf den Studienseiten der Philosophischen Fakultät.

Die Voraussetzungen für ein Studium auf Masterstufe sind durch die  Studienordnungen geregelt.

Nach Eingang der Bewerbung wird auf der Grundlage vorliegender Hochschulabschlüsse und nachgewiesener Fachkenntnisse über eine Zulassung zum Masterstudium entschieden. A timely and complete application is the basic requirement for studying at the UZH. It has to be carried out online. All dates, deadlines and information about the application procedure you can find at the respective websites of the UZH.

Students holding an UZH Bachelor's degree request changing their degree and/or study program via subject change during semester enrollment. Please check as well the respective information at the websites of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Program specific requirements for studying a master are subject of the official study regulations.

Once you have submitted a complete application dossier, it generally takes up to three months to check that you meet these requirements based on academis degrees and proved expertise. For further information please check the respective websites metioned above.

Zulassung zum Master Minor Gender Studies (30 ECTS Credits)

Der Master Minor Gender Studies ist ein nicht-konsekutives, komplementäres Studienprogramm. Für die Zulassung wird ein universitärer Bachelor-Abschluss im Umfang von 180 ECTS Credits vorausgesetzt.

Zulassung zum Master Major Gender Studies (90 ECTS Credits)

Der Master Major Gender Studies ist ein nicht-konsekutives, spezialisiertes Masterprogramm. Zum Programm zugelassen wird, wer die folgenden Bedingungen erfüllt:

• ein universitärer Bachelor-Abschluss mit 180 ECTS Credits
• Bestehen einer mündlichen Aufnahmeprüfung von 15 Minuten auf der Grundlage einer Leseliste
• Gender-wissenschaftliche Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen im Umfang von 15 ETCS Credits.

Admission to the Master Minor Modern Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (30 ECTS Credits)

The Master Minor MAMES is a complementary minor study program. Admission requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Admission to the Master Major Modern Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (90 ECTS Credits)

The Master Major MAMES is a specialized Master’s study program.
In addition to a Bachelor’s degree, admission requires proven knowledge of at least one of the modern languages taught at the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies at a level equivalent to the first-semester MAMES language module.

Further admission procedures:

1. A letter of motivation in English that clearly explains the applicant’s reasons for applying to the program.
2. A final interview is conducted once all other application documents have been evaluated and approved.
This interview verifies the applicant’s English language skills at a scientific level (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) as well as their analytical and academic skills.
In individual cases the board can refrain from holding the interview.

Admission to the program is subject to the decision of the study program’s director.

Language Requirements

Generally, language knowledge has to be proven and will be evaluated sur dossier according to the following listings.

Arabic

• Completion of Arabic education at

  • school OR

  • university OR

  • other institutions offering courses in Arabic (evaluation sur dossier).

Chinese

• Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) 3 OR

• Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) A1 OR

• Completion of a one-semester course in Chinese language at a university with Chinese as language of instruction, or equivalent prior schooling in China where Chinese was the language of instruction.

Hindi

• Completion of Hindi education at

  • school OR

  • university OR

  • other institutions offering courses in Hindi (refer to the list of sample institutions; evaluation sur dossier).

Japanese

• Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Studies OR

• Completion of at least 1 year at a school (elementary or above) or university with Japanese as language of instruction (can also be Japanese Schools outside Japan) OR

• Completion of courses in Japanese language at an accredited university equivalent to the level of JLPT N5.

Persian

• Completion of Persian education at

  • school OR

  • university OR

  • other institutions offering courses in Persian (evaluation sur dossier).

Turkish

• Completion of Turkish education at

  • school OR

  • university OR

  • other institutions offering courses in Turkish (evaluation sur dossier).

Das Masterprogramm "Philosophie in Asien und der islamischen Welt" wurde zum Herbstsemester 2024 geschlossen. Es sind keine Bewerbungen mehr möglich.
