Abstract
Midori Okabe is Professor of International Relations at Sophia University, Tokyo. Her research focuses on inter-national relations and international migration governan-ce, with particular emphasis on comparative perspec-tives between the European Union and Japan.
She has authored and edited several books in Japanese on migration and EU politics and frequently contributes to major media outlets in Japan. She serves as a Refugee Examination Counselor for the Ministry of Justice of Ja-pan and as a member of the Advisory Council on Immi-gration Policy. Her recent publications include “Recon-figuring European Union Migration Governance” (Jour-nal of Common Market Studies, forth-coming); “Global Migration Gover-nance Reconsidered: An Approach for Dynamic Analysis” (Global Gover-nance, 2024).
