PhD Seminar/Workshop: "Heavenly Questions": Text and Translations, Interpretive Traditions, and Comparative Contexts
PhD Seminar/Workshop, Friday, November 29 till Sunday, December 01, 2019
The "Heavenly Questions" 天問 is a long rhyming poem attributed to Ou Yuan and composed entirely in the interrogative mood.
In this course we will examine the text from several distinct points of view, not attempting to answer any fundamental questions about its nature, but rather familiarizing ourselves with the multilayered debates and discourses that surround the text.
