Academic Background

Since February 2023: Research and Teaching Assistant at the Chair of Gender and Islamic Studies at the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies, University of Zurich.

March – June 2022: Research Assistant at the Master for Applied Human Rights with a focus on human rights in the digital age as well as academic coordination.

November 2021 – May 2022: Research Assistant at the Global Campus for Human Rights with a focus on children’s rights and deprivation of liberty.

September 2020 – July 2021: MA Middle Eastern Studies at the Universiteit Leiden.

October 2016 – July 2020: BA Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Vienna.

Research

  • Regional focus: Lebanon, Syria, Palestine.
  • Research interests: (Socio-)political Identities, History of the 20. and 21. Centuries LGBTIQ+ Representation, Queer-Theory, Constitutional and Human Rights, Nationalism, Cultural Production.
